- 7:45 AM: carpool departs from Walmart parking lot at M-59 (Hall Road) and Mound, in the parking spaces behind Arby's
8:15 AM: Bathroom Stop at 42.76310, -83.50987 Davisburg Rest Area 908 along I-75
- 9:15 AM: park here 42.99394, -84.17270 410 S Ball St, Owosso, MI 48867, to take some photos of the train getting a head of steam, like in "scouting notes". The train departs at 10:00 AM, so we must leave by 9:45?.
- 10:05 AM - 10:15: 42.99464, -84.18007 "scouting notes". Pan, or take a static shot, as the train passes in front of the Woodward Furniture Company.
- 10:30 AM - 10:40: 43.05234, -84.28424 "scouting notes". Baldwin Road just north of King Road after the railroad tracks, optional tree at right edge of frame, pan or take a static shot of the train passing through a field.
- 10:55 AM - 11:00: 43.11781, -84.40603 "scouting notes". On East Gratiot Road, just east of South Woodbridge Rd, in Elsie, pan or take a static shot of the train passing through a field.
- 11:11 AM - 11:20: 43.18010, -84.46765 "scouting notes". North of Cleveland Rd on McClelland Rd, just past the tracks, two photos possible here - one with train approaching from the south, then turn west (right) and pan the train passing in front of some trees.
- 11:25 AM - 12:00: To avoid road closures, take McClelland Rd north, turn left at the first stop sign onto Sectionline Rd, cross the tracks, then immediately turn left onto Lynn Street, 43.18909, -84.47819, 231 Lynn Street, Ashley, MI 48806, where the train will unload and backup through it's steam to the other end of town.
